Dart Shows Heart, But Giants Come Up Short vs. 49ers 34-24

On Sunday, November 2, 2025, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the New York Giants fought hard but ultimately fell 34–24 to the San Francisco 49ers. The game opened with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart leading the Giants onto the scoreboard, hooking up with tight end Theo Johnson on a 15-yard touchdown pass on the opening drive.

Dart finished the day with 191 passing yards and two touchdown passes, along with a six-yard rushing score late in the fourth quarter. The Giants’ defence even forced a turnover when rookie linebacker Abdul Carter recovered a fumble just before halftime. However the offence couldn’t capitalize, missing a 45-yard field goal attempt by Graham Gano as time expired in the half.

Unfortunately for Big Blue, the 49ers turned the momentum around. Christian McCaffrey tore through New York’s defence with 173 total yards (106 rushing, 67 receiving) and two touchdowns, including a tying 5-yard catch in the first quarter and a decisive 3-yard run later. The Giants drop to 2-7 on the season and now face a critical stretch if they wish to restore any belief. There is still a lot of work to be done on the field. The resilience is there; the results just haven’t followed.
