Coming into Sunday afternoon, not many people gave the New York Giants a chance to beat the Green Bay Packers. New York struggled for a majority of the season, and Green Bay was looking to get back on track themselves. With snow falling from the sky, it had the feel of a real NFL football atmosphere.

The Packers opened up a game with a typical Aaron Rodgers magic show. Rodgers somehow evaded the Giants’ pressure to lead a TD drive, capped off by Davante Adams. New York would respond with a scoring drive of their own, with a highlight reel catch from Sterling Shepard. This brought the score to a 7-7 tie, and gave many freezing fans in MetLife Stadium hope.

However, that is as close as the Giants would come all afternoon. Rodgers went on to throw three more TDs, while the Giants were only able to add on two more FGs. Everyone knows to beat Green Bay, field goals just aren’t going to be enough. New York would fall to Green Bay 31-13, and drop to 2-10 on the season.

For Giants fans, it seems like this season couldn’t end any sooner. With just three games left to play, you can’t help but wonder if this team can win another game this season. New York just seems under equipped and ill managed to win games.

It all starts from under center, and Daniel Jones is not doing a good job protecting the football. Sunday, Jones threw three interceptions and lost a fumble.

You can’t win games in the NFL if you turn the ball over four times. Jones has shown this season that ball security is not a priority. With the Giants already handing off the keys to the franchise to Jones, he needs to work on that this off season. Otherwise, the same losing tendencies will carry over into next season, regardless of the personnel.

New York will look to regain their confidence, Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles (5-7).
