NY Jets: On a gorgeous Sunday afternoon in East Rutherford, NJ, the NY Jets hosted the Indianapolis Colts and rookie standout, Andrew Luck.  The Jets started out slow, with 3 and out on their first two possessions.  The Colts were first on the scoreboard with a 23-yard field goal by Adam Venatura.  The Colts led 3-to-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.

The Jets fianlly got things going in the 2nd quarter, as “ground and pound” finally reared it’s ugly head.  Sean Green had a career day on the gound as he rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns.  The combination of Sanchez and Tebow kept the Colts defense off balance the entire game.  Sanchez had an average day with 11 of 18 for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Antonio Cromartie continues to show how valuable he is to this team.  Cromartie has been forced into the new role of covering the opponents’ best receiver.  Although he had to pass interference calls against him in today’s game, he was able to shutdown the Colts best receiver, Reggie Wayne.

The defense, meanwhile, ignored the hype of the young gun, Andrew Luck, throwing to the old hand, Reggie Wayne. It kept the pressure up all game on the rookie QB, forcing him into a 22-for-44 passing game and Wayne into three catches in the first three quarters.

For week six, the Jets will have something positive to take into a week of preparation as they prepare to battle the New England Patriots next Sunday, with a final score 35-to-9.
