After winning a season high 5 games in a row, the New York Knicks have now lost 3 straight. The latest being a 109-95 loss to Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Knicks put on a very disappointing performance and looked very sloppy in this game.

The Knicks and Clippers were neck and neck until halftime. Both teams were tied at 50 but the Clippers would pull ahead and stay ahead for good. Carmelo Anthony led the team with 26 points and 20 rebounds. This was Anthony’s first double-double as a Knick and the second of his career. JR Smith also came to play scoring 24 points on 9-18 shooting. The Knicks did not get that much help from their back court as Raymond Felton and Iman Shumpert scored a combined 5 points in the game.

Even without their All-Star point guard, Chris Paul, The Clippers are still thriving. Without the injured Paul in the lineup, the Clippers are 5-1. They got strong performances by Blake Griffin (32 points) and former Knick Jamal Crawford (29 points), who came off the bench. The Clippers have now won 5 straight.

With the loss, the Knicks fall to 15-25 and are 10 games under .500. After having an amazing home record last season (31-10), New York is 7-13 at Madison Square Garden.

Adding to an already somber night, the Knicks found out that they would be without Amar’e Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin for the next two weeks. Both suffered ankle injuries during a blowout loss to the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night.

The Knicks look to bounce back on Monday when they face their crosstown rivals, the Brooklyn Nets. Game time is set for 2:3opm at Madison Square Garden.
