The Knicks, who hold the 24th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, will host 6 players tomorrow for pre-draft workouts. The list of players attending tomorrow are not jaw-dropping, but with the 24th pick in what is described as a ‘weak’ draft, the Knicks are doing their due diligence. Hopeful draftees who will be attending are;
Isaiah Canaan, Guard, 6-1, Murray State, Senior
Brandon Triche, Guard, 6-4, Syracuse, Senior
Deshaun Thomas, Forward, 6-7, Ohio State, Junior
Murphy Holloway, Forward, 6-7, Ole Miss, Senior
Norvel Pelle, Forward, 6-11
A.J. Matthews, Center, 7, Farmingdale College, Junior
With the retirement of Jason Kidd and the uncertainty surrounding Pablo Prigioni’s return, it is no surprise the Knicks will be looking to solidify the point guard position. Isaiah Canaan of Murray State is the most intriguing draftee attending Wednesday’s pre-draft workout. The battle tested point guard is considered a late first-round pick, and averaged 21.8 points and 4.3 assists. In the 2012-13 season he lead his team to the round of 34, before being defeated by Marquette.
