With their season on the line, the Rangers managed to grind out an overtime win, and send the series back to Boston. The Rangers erased a 2-0 deficit and rallied to win the game in overtime when Rick Nash connected with Chris Kreider to send the Madison Square Garden crowd into a frenzy.

The Rangers never held a lead in the game until they scored in OT. They were down 0-2, came back to tie it, only to fall behind again 3-2. And then finally, Brian Boyle scored at the 10:00 minute mark, on a power play (the first power-play goal for the Rangers in 23 attempts) to even the score at 3. This also marks their first overtime win in the playoffs this season, after losing their previous 3.

Tortorella joked with reporters after the game, “I’m so happy for Krieds. … You guys have been kicking my ass about not playing him more all year.”

The puck drops for Game 5 at 5:30 p.m., Saturday in Boston. Once again, the Rangers playoff lives once again hanging in the balance. Boston has blown a 3-0 series lead before, and look for the to be a major talking point in the media as well in both locker rooms. The Rangers need to take this one game at a time, as they  are still barely breathing.
