BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Brooklyn Nets have been an exciting team to watch all season long. Wednesday night, the Nets showed why there is much upside about the future in Brooklyn.

The red hot Minnesota Timberwolves came into the Barclays Center looking to get their 25th win of the season, and sat 4th in the Western Conference. The Nets had won two of their last three games, prior to Wednesday night’s contest. With both teams playing better basketball of late, it made for an interesting match-up.

To start the first half, the game had a very dull pace to it. Both teams weren’t shooting the ball particularly well, and the play was a little sloppy. Jimmy Butler (30 pts) and Karl Anthony Towns (16 pts, 10 rebs) carried the offensive attack early, while Minnesota was trying to find their offensive rhythm. Brooklyn did a good job of making the T’Wolves uncomfortable with their defensive pressure. Brooklyn took a 48-43 lead into halftime.

The pace started to pick up in the second half, as both teams started to get better offensively. Joe Harris (17 pts) provided a huge spark off the bench. Harris shot 4 for 5 from beyond the arc, and always seemed to be at the right place at the right time. The match-up between Harris and Andrew Wiggins (17 pts) was intriguing, as the two battled for much of the second half.

The star of the show however was Spencer Dinwiddie (26 pts, 9 ast). The Nets just seem to play with a certain fluidity with Dinwiddie at the helm. Dinwiddie showcased his fourth quarter heroics by hitting both game tying, and game winning baskets for Brooklyn. The Nets rode the fine play of Dinwiddie to a 98-97 win over the T’Wolves.

This win was a huge confidence boost for Brooklyn moving forward. This team continues to exceed expectations, even with Jeremy Lin and D’Angelo Russell sidelined. Dinwiddie is proving himself to be a special talent, and it should be interesting to see just how much he can elevate his play and this team with his play.
