After recently obtaining his green card and officially becoming a US citizen, the Red Bulls tender will be lending his talents to his home team of Paraguay after being called up for their March friendly vs Russia on March 25th. Coronel has made six career appearances with Paraguay since making his debut on September 7, 2023 against Peru in 2026 CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup Qualifying. He has posted three shutouts for Paraguay in the six matches played and has totaled 540 minutes played.

The man in the net for New York has been in Red Bull system for quite some time. He hails from Corumbá, a town situated on the border with Bolivia, but his family relocated to Porto Murtinho, a city bordering Paraguay in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, when he was just a baby. His football journey began at the age of 12 when he joined the academy of Paraná Clube, where he honed his skills for a couple of years. Transitioning to Red Bull Brasil, a relatively new club in São Paulo, marked his next significant move.

In 2015, he embarked on a pivotal journey across the ocean to join the ranks of Red Bull Salzburg, without any prior professional experience. Upon landing in Austria, he continued his development with FC Liefering, the reserve team of Salzburg. Eventually, he earned promotion to the Salzburg first team, albeit with limited opportunities in his debut season.

In 2019, a significant turn of events led to a loan spell with the Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer (MLS), providing him with invaluable exposure to the North American football scene. This experience laid the groundwork for his subsequent move to New York, where he has since been a stalwart presence in goal.

He has posted 31 shutouts in 105 appearances for the Red Bulls, which ranks second in franchise history.
