Cincinnati 76, St. John’s 54

The Cincinnati Bearcats(17-7) cruised to a 76-54 victory over St. John’s(10-14). The game opened up with the Bearcats going on a 23-15 run throughout the first half. At the four minute mark, Freshman D’Angelo Harrison drove through the Cincinnati defense for a crafty layup. Cincinnati Sophomore Sean Kilpatrick, a native of New York responded with a three to help cap off the first half with the Bearcats leading by 11.

The second half began with Sean Kilpatrick scoring 10 of his 14 points in the first five minutes. The offensive output of Kilpatrick gave Cincinnati a 44-27 advantage.

This win stopped a four game losing streak to St. John’s, their prior meeting this season was in a 2 point loss on January 7, 2012. On the other hand, the St. John’s loss keeps them near the bottom of the Big East standing at 4-8 in conference play ahead of DePaul and Providence.

The leading scorer for the Johnnies was Freshmen D’Angelo who had 15 points. The assists leader was Freshmen Moe Harkless who had 3 assists, and Freshmen Sir’Dominic Pointer had 8 boards.
