After the first two weeks of the season it was all bad news in Giants land and it seemed liked the clouds weren’t going to fade. Lately however, the Giants have won a few games and it looks like their are even brighter days in the future.

Coach Coughlin, who has been a little irritated when asked about injuries this season, finally seemed at peace for the first time in a long time this week. After the Giants beat their division rival Washington Redskins on Thursday Night Football this past week, Coughlin finally enjoyed a weekend off. Well, kind of off! Coach did say he spent his time studying the Atlanta Falcons, but of course wasn’t going to divulge his game plan to the media.

Asked if there was anything he might have taken away from watching the game this weekend, coach responded, “Not that I’m going to share with you, but I do…the reason you watch them is to get a feel for how the team is playing and where their strengths are, maybe where their weaknesses are. What’s the other team doing? Is it working? It’s kind of like a checklist.”

Coach did joke by also adding,”Probably the most important game of the day was at 2:20 when the 11-year-olds played.”

Another question that was surrounding the team has been dealing with all of the new faces and players coming over from other teams. This year the Giants had a large number of changes and veteran leadership was going to be vital. Tom Coughlin expressed that he has been happy with the way that the veterans have kept the team’s unit together.

“The real good thing is that we have some veteran leadership in that regard, they recognize exactly what you’re talking about. Did a very good job of trying to make the players from other clubs feel at home here to advance them as fast as they could on the field. That’s been a process that’s been taking place.”
