NY, MSG:  On Monday night the Knicks hosted their Atlantic Division rival Boston Celtics.  Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo did not play, after being suspended for one game:  Rondo bumped an official in his last game.  The intensity was high from the start.  The Celtics have struggled this season to find their niche, trailing the Knicks by four games in the division.

Despite playing without a suspended Rajon Rondo, the Boston Celtics came into Madison Square Garden and handled the Knicks, 102-96.

After the game Carmelo continued to pursue Garnett.  Melo skipped his press conference and headed to the visitors tunnel to wait for Garnett.  Garden security, along with Knicks security, confronted Anthony near the Celtic bus.  Garnett has a history of getting into his opponent’s head. Whatever was said on the court did  not set well with Anthony.

Coach Mike Woodson, when asked during his press conference, replied “I have no comment.”  This was the first meeting of four scheduled games this season.  Amar’e Stoudemire was quoted after the game saying “It was more talking than anything…Words are pretty sharp. When you say certain things, it gets under your skin. It gets you a little angry. It happens to the best of us.  But again, we have to make sure that we keep our composure and see if we can beat a team like Boston.”

JR Smith continued his stellar play, scoring a game-high 24 points to lead the the Knicks.  Unfortunately he suffered 11 stitches when he collided with Celtics point Avery Bradley.

We can only imagine what the scene will be like when the Knicks visit the Boston Garden.  May the best man win…
