The Knicks have put together a great little run since the speculation started of the potential signing of Phil Jackson. Saturday they came into Madison Square Garden riding a five game winning streak as they downed the Bucks 115-94.

Carmelo Anthony scored 23 as the Knicks continued their late season push to the playoffs. The six game winning steak is the longest winning streak in this season which has been a tough one for the Knicks. Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 20 points while Amare’ Stoudemire and JR Smith scored 15 each to help the Knicks extend their winning streak to six. In the span of the six game winning streak the Knicks have won every game by double digits and now sit just three and a half games back of the eighth place Atlanta Hawks.

For the Bucks, It was a game where they dropped their 54th loss and now have the league’s worst record at 13-54. Nate Wolters led the team with 15 points. Brandon Knight and Ramon Sessions added 14 points each, but the game was never really in question as they trailed by as much as 25.

The Knicks have looked like a completely different team during this stretch as they get ready to make a “Big Announcement” on Tuesday with all indications that they will announce Phil Jackson of new President of Basketball Operations. Carmelo called the acquisition of Phil Jackson a power move. The future of Carmelo Anthony is the likely to be one of the first things Jackson will have to decide as the offseason approaches. For now the Knicks will try to make the playoffs after struggling all season long.

The Knicks will have a few days off as their next game is a tough one Wednesday against the Pacers as they look to extend their winning streak and keep their playoff hopes going. But the Knicks spotlight for now is on Phil Jackson signing on to be part of the Knicks Organization. With the focus on Jackson the Knicks will be able to quietly focus on their playoff push.
