Melo’s Magic Beats Orlando

The New York Knicks defeated the Orlando Magic, 113-97.  Tyson Chandler led the Knicks with 21 points, but the real star of the game was Carmelo Anthony.  He scored only 20 points and had 7 rebounds.  This is the 30th straight game that Melo has scored 20 or more points, setting a franchise record previously owned by Richie Guerin.  On breaking the record, Anthony stated, “Any record you have a chance to go get or tie, that is the fun part.  Tonight was my chance to break the record.  It makes it fun out there when you know you are looking forward to something.  Records are meant to be broken.”

Amar’e Stoudemire also contributed with 14 points of his own.  He is slowly becoming a force off the bench.  Although the defense struggled, there was a total team effort on offense.  Next up for the Knicks are the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday at Madison Square Garden.  Game time is set for 7:30pm.
