The Nets completed a convincing win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday Evening. Approaching a 4-game road trip, they knew a win over the 76ers would be a huge confidence boost. The first half proved to be a sloppy offensive showing for both teams, however once the 3rd quarter was underway the Nets blew past the Sixers leading by over 20 points in the middle of the 3rd; the 76ers would never recover. Nets take a commanding win over Philadelphia as they defeat the Sixers 122-97.

Takeaways from the Nets win;

  • Nets were extremely effective on defense. The Nets forced 17 turnovers in the first half, and they capitalized on every one. They scored 39 points from the Sixers 27 turnovers for the night. Caris LeVert led the way with 4 steals of the night. The Nets proved their ability to clamp down defensively as a young team.
  • Offense was a high point; The Nets scored 42 points in the 3rd quarter, with 6 players in double figures. The Nets also out shined the Sixers on assists, dishing 27 to their 16.
  • Hollis-Jeferson had one of his best games of the season to date. Finishing with 21 points on 64.3% from the field. He also grabbed 6 boards and added 3 dimes.
  • Jarrett Allen continues to prove himself as a young defensive anchor. Scoring 15 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and posted 2 blocks, as Joel Embiid was held to 3 points in the 2nd half.
  • D’Angelo Russell made a strong case for himself that he belongs in the line-up down the stretch of games, scoring 17 points and 6 assists in 21 minutes.

    The Nets played an all-around solid game against the Sixers, and came out with a well organized win. “It’s not Golden State. We shouldn’t lose a game to Brooklyn by that many points,” Embiid said, but Philly did, and for that Brooklyn should be encouraged.
