Nets Take a Huge Loss in Indiana

The Brooklyn Nets played the Indiana Pacers Saturday Night.

In the first quarter both teams started solid on offense, as Caris LeVert who has been off to a great start in the season put the Nets on the board with a step back jumpshot. As the Pacers go on a 10-2 run in the first quarter, Nets rookie Rodions Kurucs made his presence known on both ends of the floor; with timely shots, and offensive and defensive boards the rookie is showing his worth.

In the 2nd quarter both Joe Harris and D’Angelo Russell were efficient from behind the arc; Harris 3-3 while Russell sinks back-to-back treys to give the Nets a momentary lead. This would not be enough to keep the Pacers off; Pacers would go on a run to close out the first half with a 9-point lead.

Jarrett Allen cuts to the basket to start the 3rd quarter, followed by 2 foul shots and a jumper, but as the Pacers take a 13 point lead, the Nets become frustrated unable to get stops as the Pacers go on runs. But Caris LeVert shows up with an aggressive steal, as he feeds Dinwiddie for a 3 to cut the lead.

Joe Harris with 17 points, going 5 for 5 from downtown gives the Nets a spark to start the 4th quarter, as they cut their deficit and trail the Pacers by 7, but Nets rookie Kurucs rolls his left ankle causing the Nets to go small in their lineup. LeVert tries to keep the Nets alive with offensive buckets, but Indiana gains great separation as the Pacers go on an 8-0 run in the middle of the 4th and lead by 21 points.

As the Nets bench check in for the starters late in the 4th, Indiana doesn’t ease up with 9 players in double figures, the Nets fall to the Pacers 132-112

Joe Harris and Caris LeVert finish with 19 points, Russell and Dinwiddie combine for 25 and rookie Karucs finished with 12 points and 6 boards before leaving the court with an ankle injury.
