London: What a performance by Team USA Basketball in the Olympics as they posted the most points ever – scoring 156, defeating Nigeria. From the start it was obvious that the US team was superior to the Nigerian team. The original Dream Team will surely hear about this one. Although they were the best team ever assembled, they never scored as many points as the current US team.
Led by NY Knicks Carmelo Anthony who scored 37 points in 14 minutes, the US team toyed with their opponents, making it look so easy and making the overwhelmed Nigerian team looked lost on the court. It was one of those nights where everything just fell into place for Team USA. Coach Mike Krzyzewski said we had one of our best shooting nights so far and that hopefully we can continue to shoot as well in the medal rounds.
LeBron James and Tyson Chandler were the only players not to connect from downtown, as Team USA broke the record for the most three-pointers ever in Olympics history.
