The Jets front office staff have spoken optimistically about having an answer to the team’s quarterback competition prior to entering training camp. Sanchez is still learning the team’s new West Coast attack while Smith is still learning just how bad the Jets media circus can be.
According to CBSSports.com’s Mike Freeman, another unnamed Jets player told him, “Everyone on the team likes Mark personally but there’s a general feeling among some of the players that maybe it’s time to give someone else a chance.” Don’t you just love ‘anonymous’ sources in the Jets locker room. The bashing did not stop there as the unnamed source said that about 80 to 90% of the Jets roster agrees. Of course, not one person has gone on record as saying this, and this time it cannot be blamed on Plaxico Burress, as he is currently on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This is another reoccurring problem that Rex Ryan has still yet to gain control of, as anonymous sources continue to kill team chemistry. Rex Ryan had better put his foot down now, or else this is going to be a longer season than expected, and we are only in OTA’s.
