Lets face it Fantasy Football has officially swept the globe. So much that people are pushing for it to be a subject in schools. Yea, it’s that big. So with that being said. Lets break down possible players to target for your team on the New York Giants.

Face it Fantasy is all about the stats like yards and touchdowns and in some leagues, receptions. Now if you have been following the G-men you can probably tell that so far there has been a shortage of that in the passing game. Most due to the new offensive system installed by new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo. Players continue to say they think it is a good scheme, but what many have seen in practice and during the preseason show otherwise.

I’m not saying there isn’t anyone worth taking a shot on. I’m just saying Eli Manning isn’t a worthy QB1 or even QB2 anymore. So with that being said let’s take a look at the players being targeted in drafts today.

1.Rashad Jennings RB

Reasons I Love Jennings:

The upside to Rashad Jennings is he will see at least 50% of the touches in a Giants offense that will see a load of the running game. He also adds value in PPR leagues as he can catch the ball out of the backfield as well. His receiving yards and big run ability is definitely a reason to give him a shot if the right timing presents itself in your draft.

Reason I Hate Jennings:

I love Rashad Jennings as a running back for the Giants, but not necessarily your fantasy team. There are many reasons I can tell you why I feel Rashad Jennings is a complete back, but that is the reason I don’t feel comfortable taking him until about the 5th round. I think he’s a complete back, but I fear that the Giants won’t use him like one. Backup standout Andre Williams will most likely take touches away from him and even worse goal-line chances.

2. Victor Cruz

Reasons I Love Cruz:

No matter how bad the passing game is he will always be the top target on the field. Thats is always a good thing in fantasy terms. In the team’s dress rehearsal vs the Jets. Cruz was targeted 7 times in one half and had 61 receiving yards. As long as the Giants other receivers like Randle and even Washington create attention, Cruz should continue to receive a bulk of the yards and end zone targets. You also have to admire his playmaking ability in creating a ton of YAC and if the offense somehow finds a way to make this offense work, Cruz could pay dividends to owners who took the chance on him.

Reasons I Hate Cruz:

Even though he may be the Giants WR1. He should only be considered you fantasy team’s WR2 at the highest. Fact is there are plenty of good receivers out there and I can name a whole lot of other guys I can grab before I take a player like Cruz even late in the draft.

 3.Giants D/ST

Reasons I Love the Giants Defense/Special Teams:

Takeaways are huge in Fantasy and with the Giants back line being as talented as it is, you can always look out for some turnovers. The Giants showed a little bend, but not break defense in the preseason and flashed plenty of turnover ability.

Reason I Hate The Giants Defense/Special Teams:

Takeovers are only part of the game in fantasy for defense. Another part is total points and that is what scares me. What many people don’t take into account is “What happens if the Offense turns over the ball at their own 1 yard line?” That puts the defense in a extremely hard situation. With the Giants offense not looking so good I don’t trust them keeping the defense relaxed and in good position when they come into the game. I could easily see them coming off the bench with little rest and hindering their ability.
