Former Knick Renaldo Balkman involved in tussle with Phillippine Teammate (VIDEO) *UPDATE*

SCROLL DOWN FOR THE UPDATE

Former Knicks 2006 first round draft pick out of South Carolina Renaldo Balkman chokes out teammate Arwind Santos and its all caught on video.
Actually Balkman gets into a few exchanges with referees and members of his team as well as the opposite team, until some one, a friend, I suppose walks on the court and does his best at calming him. It’s all really wild. The team you ask…the Petron Blaze Boosters of the Philippine Basketball Association.
Is this what happened to him after the knicks traded him in 2012 for J. R. Smith?

UPDATE:

Renaldo’s antics has gotten him banned from the professional basketball league in the Philippines. He was also fined $250,000 Philippine pesos about $6,100 in American Dollars. It’s not immediately clear if the ban is permanent.

Commisioner Chito Salud said he took into consideration Balkman’s past record as a player, which included a head-butting incident during a FIBA-Americas game between his Puerto Rico side and Venezuela.

“I also took into consideration Balkman’s evident disregard for local and the host country’s sensibilities highlighted by his choking act on-court in full public view of his own teammate, who was trying to pacify him,” Salud said.

Let’s hope Balkman gets his act together.
