GE-NO not present at ‘Jets West’

The New York Jets quarterback situation got more interesting today, after learning that Geno Smith was not present. Mark Sanchez conducts his ‘Jets West’ at his high-school in California. This is the time of year where the offense gets to work together and get valuable reps so they are on the same page when September rolls around.

It is unclear if Sanchez has extended Smith an invitation to attend, but one thing is for certain; training camp will be electric. Sanchez is playing for his starting role, which if I said that 2 years ago people would think I’m crazy. The Jets selected Smith in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, applying extra pressure for Sanchez to perform at the same level he did during his Rookie and Sophomore campaign. Head Coach, Rex Ryan has not been shy in saying that Sanchez must improve his play.

The Daily News reported earlier this June that Smith would attend Sanchez’s ‘Jets West’. Smith is currently working out on his own in Florida. Look for Sanchez and Smith to exchange jabs all season long.
