Jets Fly High

In what was one of the most anticipated season openers in franchise history, the NY Jets defeated the Buffalo Bills, 48-28.  They did not disappoint the crowd at Metlife Stadium  after an awful
pre-season where the Jets scored only 1 touchdown.  The Jets offense dominated the 1st half.

The offense was led by Mark Sanchez, who silenced his critics.  Sanchez threw for a total of 266 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. However, Tim Tebow did not fare so well as our first look at the wildcat led to 5 carries for only 14 yards.  The receiving core was led by Stephen Hill, who scored 2 touchdowns on 89 yards and Jeremy Kerley, who had 1 touchdown on 45 yards.  The rushing attack was all about Shonn Greene who scored 1 touchdown on 94 yards.

The defense was strong despite letting Ryan Fitzpatrick throw 195 yards and 3 touchdowns. The defense intercepted Fitzpatrick 3 times, including a pick 6 by Antonio Cromartie in the 3rd quarter. The other interceptions were by Darrelle Revis and Kyle Wilson. The only bright spot for the Bills was CJ Spiller.  He led their rushing attack for 169 yards and 1 touchdown.  One of his runs went for a 56-yard touchdown.

It was a great day for the Jets, as they sent their fans home happy.  They have a 1-0 record to start the season. Next up, the Jets travel to Heinz Field  as they take on Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
