Jets Still Undecided

Week 3 of the preseason is upon us and the New York Jets are still undecided on who should be the starting Quarterback. The battle between Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith continues. Their upcoming matchup with the New York Giants will go a long way in determining who could start week 1 of the season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Mark Sanchez had an opportunity to take a huge step in becoming the starting QB, however, his uneven performance against the Jaguars on Saturday left much to be desired. His final stat line would have suggested that he had a good game (13/23, 169 YDS, 1TD, 1INT), but he threw an interception in the red zone. He also held onto the ball way too long, as his offensive line gave him enough time to throw the ball. Sanchez will only have to work harder for the Jets and their fan base to get some sort of confidence in his ability to be the starting QB come Week 1 of the regular season.

Sanchez will also have to deal with the fact that he might not even start the third preseason game against the New York Giants. There is a chance, if healthy, that Geno Smith can show what he is made of. Smith has been dealing with an injured ankle sustained during the loss against the Detroit Lions in the first preseason game. If he is ready to go he will start.

With only two weeks left in the preseason, Coach Rex Ryan will have a tough decision to make. Will Sanchez get one more chance, or will the rookie take the next step? Stay tuned!!
