The New York Jets defeated the New England Patriots yesterday by a final score of 30-27. It took overtime to get the job done, and the jets overcame a double digit halftime lead in the process. This win moves the Jets to 4-3 on the season, and leaves them one game behind the Patriots for first in the AFC East.

Geno Smith showed his resiliency in the second half. Smith threw a pick-6 and fumbled twice in the opening half. While his stat line was not eye popping (17-33 with 1TD and 1 INT), he made the plays when he had too. Smith and Jeremy Kerley were in rhythm as they completed 8 catches for 97 yards and a touchdown. Chris Ivory was also a bright spot as he rushed for 1o4 yards on 31 carries.

The Jets defense spared Geno by returning a Tom Brady pass for a touchdown in the first minute of the second half. This is when the momentum started to change, which ultimately lead to the Jets wrestling away the lead in the 4th quarter only to see Tom Brady march his team down to send the game to OT with no time left. Jet fans have seen that all too much, but this time the Jets were able to pull out the win, snapping a 6 game losing streak to their arch rivals.
