There is no denying that Peyton Manning is a great quarterback. He just capped off an amazing season, sending the Denver Broncos back to the Super Bowl for the first time since John Elway retired. Not to mention, he just won his 5th MVP award and set the record for touchdowns in a season with 55. Manning also set a league record throwing for 5,477 yards.

Where Manning gets his criticism is in the playoffs. Although he has one Vince Lombardi Trophy under his belt, he should have more. With a person of his stature and pedigree, Manning should have multiple championships. His playoff record is an uninspiring 11-11. Where Manning shines during the regular season with a 167-73 record, he is disappointing in the playoffs with an 11-11 record, including a divisional round knockout last season.

Manning most likely is a lock for the Hall of Fame, however, he has a chance to make history. Manning has a chance to go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. He already has broken so many records and to cap it off with a 2nd Super Bowl championship would be a true accomplishment.

Manning does have his work cut out for him against a dominating Seattle defense, but if anyone can have the chance to pick apart a defense it is Peyton Manning. With weapons all over the field, including Damaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Eric Decker, and Knowshon Moreno; Manning should be able to put points on the board. Manning will either shut up the critics with an unbelievable performance, or fall flat on his face like he has done in past playoff appearances. Either way we will all find out if Manning can be held in the same regard as a Joe Montana and Tom Brady.
