Roc Nation Sports Agency, Jay Z Jumping in the Sports Arena, Selling Stakes in Brooklyn Nets.

Last week Jay Z announced the launch of Roc Nation Sports and the first client on his roster New York Yankee, Robinson Cano.
Jay Z and business partner Juan Perez have partnered with Creative Artists Agency sports division to co-represent Cano. CAA will handle the negotiations and contracts while Jay-Z handles the marketing and branding of players
A four-time MLB All-Star, Cano is a member of the Yankees’ 2009 World Series championship team, a four-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and two-time Gold Glove Award winner. Since his Major League debut in May 2005, he leads all second basemen in hits, doubles, and RBIs and has more home runs than any second baseman in Yankees history.
Cano was quoted “I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals.
For Jay Z this a natural progression his love for sports is evident in his raps with lines like “I can make a Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can” from Empire State of Mind his duet with Alicia Keys, we kind of knew this was coming.
Now, there are rumblings that Jay Z will be selling his one percent stake of the Brooklyn Nets so that he can concentrate on becoming a sports agent.
His stake in the team is small but he was the key marketing figure in bringing the Nets from NJ to his hometown of Brooklyn.
We will soon be witnessing our professional sports athletes throwing Roc signs in the air…
