*The Knicks Say Farewell to Kurt Thomas*

The New York Knicks just released the seasoned veteran Kurt Thomas today to free up a roster spot in order to sign Solomon Jones.
Kurt Thomas currently ranks ninth on the franchise’s all-time rebounding list with 4,272. Knicks fans and players all know that Kurt brought
that old school leadership to the team. He played an intrical role in helping develop some of the young talent on that roster such as Iman Shumpert.

Thomas suffered an acute stress reaction on his foot that kept him sidelined for the past few weeks. The playoffs are in a few weeks, and with Chandler, Camby, and
Martin also sidelined with injuries; the Knicks couldn’t afford to wait for all these guys to get healthy hence dropping Thomas and picking up Jones. In a way, it’s a bitter sweet
situation for the Knicks.

Solomon Jones just recently played in the Chinese Basketball Association with Liaoning. The 6’10” forward spent time in the NBA playing for the Los Angeles Clippers and the New Orleans Hornets.
Mike Woodson is hoping to get quick production out of Jones as the playoffs are rapidly approaching.
