Cam Talbot made 25 saves in a solid performance in relief of Henrik Lundqvist. J.T. Miller scored New York’s only goal in the third period thanks to a great feed from Chris Kreider.

Nazem Kadri’s goal with 1:24 left in the period forced overtime and earned his team at least one point. David Clarkson tried a wrap-around shot that ended up underneath Talbot’s pad. Kadri’s came in late and poked it across the line. This was reviewed by the NHL and deemed a good goal.

Derek Stepan and Mats Zuccarello scored in the shootout and Talbot made the deciding save as the Rangers held off Toronto for the extra point.
