Win – You’re In

NY Giants:  It’s simple for Big Blue to win and be in the playoffs as the NFC  East Divison Champs. The Giants hosted their division rival Dallas Cowboys in the last game of the NFL regular season. The winner will be crowned NFC East Champs; the loser goes home for a long winter of maybe’s.  It was all Big Blue in the first half, with Eli Manning throwing two touchdowns.  Connecting with rookie stand-out Victor Cruz, who broke tackles and scampered 74 yards to paydirt, it was 7-0 GMen.  On the next possession it was Ahmad Bradshaw pounding his way to the end zone, with the Giants taking a 21-0 lead into halftime.  It was more of the same in the second half:  the Giants defense kept the pressure on Tony Romo, sacking him five times. The Giants did what they were supposed to do,  win at home with 31-14 the final score.  The Giants will host the Alanta Falcons on Sunday at MetLife Staduim for a chance to advance to the NFC Championship game.

It was disappointing loss for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, in attendence with his friends and family.  “It’s extremely painful and it’s a damn shame,” Jones said. “We have a good team and I thought we would be going to the playoffs, but that didn’t happen. We have to be able to take some of the good with the bad and move on.  We did a lot of good things this year, but to point to one thing why this happened would be subjective.  We’re 8-8 and we have to be better than that.”
