Bottom of the 9th, Jose Valverde on in relief for the Metropolitans as Mets fans everywhere hold their breath. Valverde gets Albert Pujols to ground out to shortstop to lead off. Maybe I’ve been misjudging this guy, he pitched really well yesterday! Howie Kendrick is up next, he lines out to right field. Angels down to one out, lets go Valverde! David Freese is up next, he singles to center field. It’s all right, it has no impact on the game as long as Valverde does his job and gets this last out here! As I’m stuck in a moment of deja vu, Jose Valverde surrenders a 400 foot 3-run home run to Ibanez. Angels tie the game up at 6. I can’t believe Valverde really just blew the lead, actually I can. We are going into extra innings for the second game in a row.

The Mets and Angels bullpens would battle back and forth for the next few innings, as the score remained tied 6-6.

Top of the 13th inning, Anthony Recker answers Mets fans prayers with a lead off home run to left field. The Mets would take a 7-6 lead and would not surrender it.
