The Mets and Diamondbacks were in action for the 2nd game of their 3 game series Tuesday night. Jenrry Mejia on the mound for the Mets against Bronson Arroyo and the Diamondbacks.

This game would be a one sided drubbing.

Top of the 1st, Mets get off to a fast start. Eric Young Jr. reaches base on an infield single to second. Daniel Murphy is up next, he singles to left field, Young Jr. to second. David Wright would keep it going with a single of his own to right, bases loaded. Lucas Duda at the plate, he grounds into a fielders choice to first, Young Jr. scores, Wright out at second, Murphy to third. Mets lead 1-0. Andrew Brown up next, he hits a sac-fly to center, Murphy comes into score, Duda to second. Mets lead 2-0. Kirk Nieuwenhuis would cap off the Mets first inning flurry with a single to center field, Duda scores, Mets lead 3-0.

Jenrry Mejia was perfect through the first 3 innings.

Top of the 4th, Andrew Brown leads off the inning with a single to center. Kirk Nieuwenhuis follows that up with a 2-run homer to right field. Mets take a 5-0 lead. Travis d’Arnaud walks. Omar Quintanilla then doubles to deep right center, d’Arnaud to third. Jenrry Mejia flies out to left. Eric Young Jr singles to left, d’Arnaud and Quintanilla both come into score. 7-0 Mets. Daniel Murphy follows up with a single of his own to center, Young Jr. to second, D-Backs center fielder A.J. Pollock commits an error that allows Young Jr. to come around to score, Mets lead 8-0. David Wright knocks Bronson Arroyo out of the game with a single to left, Murphy to second. Randall Delgado on in relief for the D-Backs. Delgado plunks Lucas Duda with a pitch to load the bases. Andrew Brown would then ground into a fielders choice to shortstop, scoring Murphy. Mets would take a 9-0 lead and that would be the final score.

Jenrry Mejia left the game after 5 very good innings of work with a torn blister on his pitching hand.

Mets improve to 7-7 on the season. Game 3 of this series is Wednesday afternoon. Dillon Gee vs. Brandon McCarthy.
