Yet, they’ve embraced that challenge and he’s taking responsibility as the captain and leader to change that.

Without Andrews in the lineup, the Giants have struggled profusely in the run and passing game. There’s been a direct correlation between Thomas appearing in the lineup and improvement in the offense. Some consider Thomas the most valuable and important piece on the offense because of his dominant nature. Despite playing a career-low 576 snaps last season, he’s showing a glimpse of his 2022 season where he was named third overall in his position.

While Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has more time in the pocket, the passing game has become one of the strong points of the offense.

Naturally, when seen as one of the best often they’re forced to play against the best in the game as well, Thomas has been put through the gauntlet thus far, having lined up against some of the most fierce edge rushers in the league: Myles Garrett, Micah Parsons, Leonard Williams, and Jonathan Greenard. In three of the five weeks, he’s ranked amongst the top five Giants with the highest grades, per Next Gen Stats.
