Ramses Barden has re-signed with the New York Giants, adding depth to their receiver corps.

Barden,  selected by the Giants in the third round in 2009 is happy to be back with Big Blue. “I’m happy to be back,” Barden said in a statement from the team. “This is where I wanted to be and now I’m here. I was out there listening to the calls, getting back into the rhythm of the cadence, enjoying the camaraderie and absorbing everything. I remember everything, I’ve had four years to soak it all up. I’m happy to be back on the field. I feel great. I expect the best.”

Barden had a breakout game last year while filling in for Hakeem Nicks. It was a Thursday Night ‘Prime-Time’ game against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers, and Barden had 9 receptions for 138 yards. It’s flashes like this that made the Giants draft him in the third round, however consistency and injuries have been a major problem. Barden has an advantage knowing the offense, but he will still need to beat out receivers like Ruben Randle, Jerrel Jernigan and Luis Murphy to see some game time.
