Jets and Giants Rivalry Game

ByVernon McKenzie

East Rutherford, NJ:  The rivalry continues as the Jets and Giants battle for bragging rights in the second pre-season game.  It appears the Jets haven’t worked out their offensive woes. The offensive line continues to struggle, not allowing Marc Sanchez  the time he needs to survey the field.  Sanchez was sacked 3 times in the first half and the Giants led 16-0 at the half.

The Jets began the third quarter with Tim Tebow at the helm.  Finally the Jets would get on the score board after Tebow drove the team down the field on a couple of passes and two first down runs. The Jets would end up with a 36-yard field goal.  Tebow missed a great opportunity to score the Jets first touchdown, but he came up a little short on the pass to  Steven Hill.

The Jets are still without their starting receivers:  Santonio Holmes out with a sore rib and Jeremy Kerley with an ailing right knee.

After the game Coach Ryan said when playing the Giants “This is team you have to stay ahead of, you have to keep moving the sticks.  Defensively we are playing well (light’s Out) the hold defense is playing well. I’m definitely disappointed in our play, we have some self-inflicted wounds.”
