The Jets defeated the Raiders, 37-27, in what was a must win game at MetLife Stadium. The win helped keep the Jets playoff hopes alive. It also ended the Jets season high, three game losing streak.
Geno Smith had a nice bounce back game throwing for 219 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. Geno also ran for 50 yards and had a touchdown run. Jeremy Kerley returned from injury to catch a touchdown, while Chris Ivory led the team with 76 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. On the defensive side, Antonio Allen blocked a punt for a touchdown return in the 2nd quarter.Ed Reed caught an interception setting up the Jets in the redzone, however, they would have to settle for a field goal.
Raiders quarterback, Matt McGloin had a good game throwing for 245 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The Raiders ground attack came up big as Marcel Reece rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown, but it was not enough. With the loss the Raiders fall to 4-9 on the season.
The victory improves the Jets record to 6-7. Another must win game awaits them, but this time they will face a very hot Carolina Panthers team led by Cam Newton. Game time is set for4:05pm.
