The Knicks Fall Short to the Indiana Pacers

NY Knicks: All of the Knick players didn’t come to play which resulted in them losing to the Pacers and trailing in the series 3-1. George Hill led the scoring with 26 points.  Paul George was only 3 assists shy of a triple double. The Knicks had a world of problems it seemed.  Iman Shumpert was attending to a sore knee which limited his play and defense that the Knicks are accustomed to.

Stoudemire was called into the game and only dropped 4 points.  Felton couldn’t penetrate and score the way he has all season due to the size of Indiana, though he managed to score 14 points that he had to work extremely hard for.  Furthemore, J.R. Smith, although scoring 19 points, was practically a non-factor when his team needed him only hitting 7-22 from the field.  Jason Kidd continues his scoreless game streak as if he’s trying to set a record.

The only Knick that hit big shots and gave New York hope was the NBA leading scorer Carmelo Anthony.  Anthony led the Knicks scoring with 24 points, yet he only had one assist.  In a way, one may think he shouldn’t have to pass the ball if the rest of the team can’t score.

The Indiana Pacers just appear to be too dominant at home as they are 5-0 there during these playoffs.  The Pacers defense is absolutely smothering and it is definitely wearing on the Knicks.  They dominated the boards once again as they led game in rebounding with 54 vs the Knicks’ 36 rebounds.  Also, they had more assists, steals, and blocks than the Knicks.  A team just can’t win without performing in those categories.  It’s not rocket science.

The Knicks will try to grab a win in the Garden on Thursday.  Coach Woodson needs to really figure out a way to win before all the fingers start pointing in his direction.
