The 2013 MLB All Star Game is set to take place in Flushing, Queens on Tuesday July 16h, at Citi Field; home of the New York Mets. Jacob Javits Center is playing host from July 12-16th to the ‘world’s largest interactive baseball theme park’, or better known as the 2013 T-Mobile All Star Fan Fest.

With over 450,000 square feet of baseball heaven, New York City once again showed the rest of the world how to put on a show. Activities ranged from video games for kids, live batting cages, real MLB Hall Of Fame artifacts and even Sirius XM hosting their radio show live in front of 2,000 fans. A list of activities is listed below, not in order of fun;

Hall Of Fame Memorabilia- Ranging from game worn jerseys, to home-run balls and even last years’ gold glove.

Hometown Heroes- Learn about the New York Mets history. Artifacts from the world series winning teams and hall of famers.

The Negro Leagues- Pay tribute and learn about baseball’s past. Some of baseball’s most notable players were part of the Negro Leagues including Jackie Robinson and Satchel Paige.

World Baseball Classic- Revisit the 2013 World Baseball Classic and learn it’s history and significance.

Minor League Baseball exhibit- Learn about baseballs minor leagues and see where each team plays on a massive map wall.

Pretend to be on MLB Network- Take your picture on the ‘fake set’ of MLB .

Family Field- Take your picture on your own trading card, and participate in training drills like testing your accuracy throwing a baseball through a tire, and catching fly balls.

Batting Practice- Take batting practice no matter what age. There were t-balls set up for youngsters while adults could face a pitching machine and battle for pride with the rest of their family.

Fast Relief Pitch- Test your arm strength and see how just how fast your ‘fastball’ is with a radar gun.

Steal a base- Test your base-running skills and see if you can steal second base.

Fields of Play- Take a look at game used grass presented by MLB’s grass sponsor, Scotts.

Collectors Items- Baseball memorabilia for all ages. Buy, sell or trade old and new baseball cards, game used jerseys, game used bases and bats. If you could name it, they had it.

Sirius XM- Listen to a lineup of co-hosts reporting on baseball news and other stories for the day.

MLB Network- Watch MLB Network broadcast live.

The world’s Largest Baseball- Take a picture with the ‘world’s largest baseball’, signed by Derek Jeter, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Yogi Berra and more.

MLB The Show- Take a break and play baseball’s number one video game against friends or family.

Food Court- Authentic ball park food such as hot dogs, cracker jacks, popcorn and beer.

If you have not already visited MLB’s Fan Fest, I strongly recommend doing so. Whether you are a baseball fan or not, MLB’s fan fest is more than just baseball, as it shows the history of ‘America’s past time’, the Negro Leagues, and has activities of all kinds. MLB really hit a ‘homerun’ putting together the world’s largest interactive baseball theme park.
