Rangers Keep Rolling

The New York Rangers pulled off an impressive win against the Carolina Hurricanes tonight. Contributions came from all over the ice as their offense came up big, scoring 5 goals. Three of those goals came from Derek Stepan, who completed the second hat trick of his career. The other two came from the speedy Carl Hagelin, who came up one goal short of his own hat trick.

The line consisting of Derek Stepan, Chris Kreider, and Mats Zuccarello was very impressive scoring 3 goals. Even though the three goals came from Stepan, all contributed to a great game. Ever since Chris Kreider returned from Hartford, he has been an integral part of the offense. Another important return has been Carl Hagelin. His speed has helped the offense flow a lot smoother than before. The Rangers offense has scored nine goals during their 3 game winning streak.

Lets also not forget the effort put in by goalie Henrik Lundqvist. He had 27 saves in 28 attempts. Vintage Lundqvist was on hand as he dazzled the crowd with impressive save after save. One game after his second shut out of the season, Lundqvist held the Hurricanes to zero goals until the closing moments of the second period. Andrej Sekura scored the lone goal for the Hurricanes as they were shutout for the rest of the game falling to the Rangers, 5-1.

Next up, the Rangers will host the Anaheim Ducks at Madison Square Garden. The Puck hits the ice at 7:30PM on Monday.
