NY Knicks:  After a successful season in 2012-13, winning 54 games. The Knicks are hopeful that this season will be more gratifying than last season. With the help of some of the game’s greatest players (Jayson Kidd) they reached a milestone winning the Atlantic Division Title. A great accomplishment, for a team with some many veteran players.

Over the summer the Knicks added Andrea Bargnani via a trade from the Toronto Raptors. Bargnani, a seven-foot versatile player should help on the offensives side of the ball. Which will help stretch the opponents defense and open up the driving lanes for other players.  In addition to acquiring Bargnani, the Knicks acquired Metta World Peace via free agency. World Peace is a hometown favorite from Queens New York his toughness is something Knicks needed.

Iman Shumpert appears to be fully recovered from his knee injury. If Shumpert can stay healthy the Knicks should be one on the top defensive teams in the eastern conference. Shumpert is battling the pragmatic J.R. Smith for the starting shooting guard position.

Oh yes J.R. Smith so much talent with so many questions that need to be answered. How can Coach Mike Woodson get this guy to understand how to be a professional? If J.R. is focus he has the ability to be one of the league’s top offensive players. It’s totally up to him, does he want to be great or is he satisfied with being an inconsistent player.

Talks have already surfaced about Carmelo Anthony deciding to opt out of his contract, to test the free agency market. Will this be a distraction for the team throughout the season? Only time will tell as Melo likes to say.
