Knicks Lose 3 Straight To Start March

NEW YORK CITY-  Starting the month of March the right way has not gone well for the Knicks. They have dropped their first 3 games of the month, and have fell to a very poor 12-49 record. During this 3 game slide, the Knicks have lost games to Sacramento at home, and both games of a home and home against Indiana. Their 92-86 loss on Saturday night, has been the closest they’ve came to winning in the month of March. New York’s other two other losses were 20+ point blowout defeats.

There isn’t much more to say about this team that hasn’t already been said. Without Carmelo Anthony lost for the season due to knee problems, the Knicks do not have consistent firepower to compete for 4 quarters. Often times we see spurts of greatness within the triangle offense, but New York simply lacks the personnel needed to compete throughout an entire game. This has been especially evident, as the Knicks haven’t been able to score more than 90 points this month so far.

On a positive note, Andrea Bargnani has had back to back good games for the blue and orange. Saturday night against Indiana he finished with 21 points and 5 rebounds, and Wednesday night he had 25 points and 4 rebounds. Bargnani more than likely will not be a Knick next year, due to his little production in his 2 year stint. However, it’s nice to see glimpses of what Knick fans thought they were getting when he came to New York.

New York will look to break its losing streak on the road Monday night against Denver. This will be the first of a 5 game Western Conference road trip for New York. If the Knicks continue to struggle scoring the basketball, they could potentially come back from this road trip winless.
